About the course

Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia is launching a new course on Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials (SRWE). This is level 2 of the Network Administration course, which aligns with the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification program offered by Cisco Systems.

 

In this course, you will study:

  • Develop skills in switching technologies and router operations essential for supporting small-to-medium business networks. 
  • Gain proficiency in basic network configuration and troubleshooting, 
  • Identify and mitigate LAN security threats effectively,
  • Acquire the knowledge to configure and secure a fundamental WLAN, ensuring optimal network performance and security.

 

The language of instruction for the course is Armenian. The course curriculum can be found here. Applicants are required to pass an enrollment test to join the program. A sample test is available here. Those who need additional preparation may opt to enroll in the 'Network Administration Fundamentals' course, which serves as level 1.


What will I be able to do after this course?

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Securely configure devices using best practices.
  • Set up VLANs and trunking in a switched network.
  • Implement DHCPv4 across multiple LANs.
  • Manage dynamic address allocation in IPv6 networks.
  • Understand how vulnerabilities impact LAN security.
  • Configure switch security to prevent LAN attacks.
  • Understand routing concepts and configure static and default routes.

Vahagn Kharatyan is a Cisco-certified professional with more than 13 years of experience in IT, including network and web technologies. For the last 10 years, he has been combining practical work with teaching.
